Paspartu: what it is, why need and what happens

Paspart is not only a short man from the famous TV show Fort Boyard. This is also a sheet of paper or cardboard (and better organity, MDF or plywood), which is inserted into the frame. And already in the hole in the passent, the framed picture is attached.

If the work is made in black and white colors, choose the clipart will be easy. Leaving for consideration of the framing of white, black or gray, it will only remain to determine which one in this case will be most appropriate. If the gray background for the photo in the interior will look neutral, then the white can not only make the work visually more, but also to optically push it to the fore. The choice in favor of a black framing will be the basis of creating a kind of "window", allegedly through which the observer will contemplate the plane of the picture.

The passe may be smooth, with a specific texture, as well as decorated with stucco (sometimes even carved) details. Separately, it is not used, at least that is intended for stucco bagent frames.

What tasks solves the passecut in the composition of the molding frame:

  • It can be inserted into the frame image smaller in size than the seat on the frame;
  • It works as an adapter between the frame and the pattern when their geometry (oval picture in a rectangular frame);
  • Paspartu allows you to freely select the size of the frame, less focusing on the size of the image. For example, several different patterns are required to be placed in the frame with the same external dimensions;
  • If the designer idea is required by the passecut can visually increase the width of the frame. To do this, the passecut and the frame color and are separated equally;
  • Conversely, the passecut is highlighted by color different from the frame (sometimes fundamentally different) if you need to visually separate the picture from the frame framing;
  • You can combine several small and variance images (especially photographs) in one composition;
  • An explanatory inscriptions, autographs and signs with the names of the authors and the names of works can be placed on the passecut.

Color - Pasque

Before creating a clipart for the picture, you must first determine the basic color. From the color range of the frame will depend on the entire type of exposure, because with a disadvantaged selected color, the image can dissolve in the frame and, on the contrary, look very defiantly.

There are some tips for choosing a color scheme:

  • White color is well suited for black and white photos and for the work of monochrome graphics;
  • For engravings, calm pastel tones are well suited, which do not distract the view from the work itself;
  • Saturated colors are a great solution for design posters;
  • Black color visually reduces the image.

It is worth noting that when choosing a color for the basics, the passecut must be taken into account where the finished work is placed, what kind of design, style, the color scheme will be in the room, work should harmoniously look at the environment.

It is also necessary to take into account that cardboard or paper, the finished embroidery should be in size to be about 2 mm less than the frame itself. Otherwise, the embroidery will either fall out, or it will not work tightly close the frame.

Using a ruler and pencil, draw a rectangle or a square (depends on the embroidered pattern format). In the drawn figure, draw 2 diagonals, on them to make cuts with scissors or stationery knife. Carefully cut inner square or rectangle, bend the edge into the inside in such a way that the edges were smooth. Stick the passeface to the base with the help of glue or bilateral tape.

Corrugated paper clipart

Now it is worth drawing a rectangle in size as embroidery, to spend diagonally in it. How to make a beautiful clock with your own hands

Even the most exquisite and beautiful picture without the appropriate design and high-quality frame will look completely inappropriate and slaughter. Therefore, in front of the needlewomen and masters who create masterpieces with their own hands at the end of the work there is a question "How to effectively arrange your creation?" Of course, you can consider your work of art in a barn workshop, but this option is not suiced and will not be for my pocket. Therefore, the ideal solution will do Pasparta do it yourself .

Bouquet with passecut in different shades and colors

What is "Pasparta" and what is his purpose

Pasparta is a special framework From cardboard With a hole round, oval or quadrangular shape, where the photo is inserted, the picture or any other product. Such type frame Wonderful suitable For embroidery , for design drawing. The main task of Paspartu is the creation of harmony between the picture, the frame and the general design of the premises. With the help of such a design you can focus on the center of the composition and fit it perfectly into the interior.

The passecut for color works can be more diverse. Experimenting with color or black and white classic design of the photo, you can visually do the work deeper, viewing it to it or focus on certain details. In particular, to achieve the latter, it is enough to choose a clock to the detail on which I would like to pay special attention to. As a win-win solution, you can acquire a framing of calm, muted tones. In any case, the risk is justified.

Deciding with a tint of passecut, should be given

Pasparta will be a wonderful option to highlight the picture on the wall, especially if the color of the wallpaper and image coincides. For example, if you want to hang a picture or photo depicting the forest in green shades, and the wallpaper on the walls of the room light-salad. The passecut of a contrasting shade will be the perfect solution in this case.

Creating a passeface yourself, you can leave around the picture so much space as you consider it necessary to make the maximum focus on the picture. By the way, at this free place can be placed the author's signature or a well-known quote. Another advantage of the passecut is its versatility - it is suitable For painting or photo of any size.

Attention to his fields.

Here, as in any other case, moderation is needed. Too narrow fields will be merged with the frame, thereby not fulfilling the requirements entrusted to them, and the passecut with wide fields will distract attention from the work itself. We noticed that for the work of a popular format of 30x40 cm. The width of the Pasque field width is selected: for the photomaster exhibition from 80 to 120 mm., For the house from 50 to 80 mm., Since the space wall is less. There are also special programs that choose the optimal sapartage size. Without a passecut, posters or posters are drawn up, but not always. For square work it is allowed that the bottom field is somewhat wider compared to the rest.

What is needed to create a passe

In order to make a passe for photo Or drawing, materials and tools are needed:

  • cardboard or watman;
  • Dense colored paper that needs your shade;

Self Manufacture Pasparta will require patience and some efforts from you, however, people with any skill level can cope with work. Stephago The work scheme looks like this:

Surround yourself with beauty!

1. Take a sheet of thick cardboard and draw a rectangle. Its dimensions must be twice as the size of the finished picture or the pattern for which the passecut is made. This rectangle needs to be cut. Place the picture in its center so that the distance from the parties to the edges of the frame was the same. Druel the picture or drawing with a simple pencil, and then cut the resulting rectangle. As a result, you will have a peculiar frame with the window in the middle. Establish this item to the side.

  • 2. The next step is the manufacture of a contrasting color of Kant. Take tight colored paper and cut four strips of the same width - about 3-4 centimeters. The first pair of strips should be equal to the size of the length of the window, the second pair - width. Then bend the resulting strips along in half, while you need to leave a narrow cat in a width of no more than 2 millimeters.
  • 3. Attach strips to the inner window and check how suitable they are. Using a metal triangle, measure extra corners and cut them.
  • 4. The next step is to glue the bands to the frame itself. The glue should be applied only to the cardboard, since the colored paper is thinner and can stretch, swell. In this case, there will be unaesthetic tubercles. Particular attention should be paid to the joints on the corners of the frame.
  • 5. When the glue is dry, you can make a picture or picture from the reverse side, place the finished operation of the frame with a glass or without.
  • 6. It is worth noting the feature of embroidery in the passecut. It must be fixed on a sheet of dense cardboard with a tape or stapler, and only then decorate the passe and frame.

Paspartu options

Many colors in the palette of the passe

When choosing a width, the passecut should consider the fact that a small image looks more effectively in a narrow frame, and bright and large - in wide.

Pasparta should be wider than the frame itself twice.

In order for the passecut and the picture to be freely placed in the frame, it is necessary to make them 3 mm less from all sides than the size of the frame itself.

Pasparta for a romantic picture can be decorated with lace, ribbons dried flowers, which will give him even greater charm.

The passecut for children's drawings is decorated with a variety of buttons, icons, mini-toys and other playful stuffs.

It looks very original as the passecut made from ordinary fabric. They add the interior of a special home coat and heat.

Following all these advice and step-by-step instructions, you can independently create a unique passent, which will decorate any of your work. At the same time, you will significantly save your budget.

Based on the assortment of my store and the type of creativity, which I do, it seems to me logical to highlight the topic, first of all the relevant for those who have recently became the owner of the work of the art. It will be about issues of registration of the painting in the frame. After all, the purchase of the picture involves ultimately placing it in the interior - we buy it for themselves or as a gift, any picture needs a framing that harmoniously will drive it into the surrounding space. A competently chosen frame will make the perception of the picture finished and spectacular, and everything in general will become a wonderful addition of the interior or, more than one, will give the tone, give a new sound to the usual appearance of the room. I will explain why I prefer to sell my work without clearance, so to speak, in primeval form. There are two reasons for that. The first is a purely pragmatic properties, this is a delivery issue. The leisure itself, for example, watercolor paper is much easier to pack out perfectly reliably for the postal shipment, rather than the frame with glass. In addition to risk, such a parcel will cost you more, and I do not like it :) The second reason, and the main thing is that in the design of the picture too much depends on the personal taste of its owner. The case is creative, the form of the frame of the frame can be a lot, and I choose I prefer to leave for the new owner of the painting.

You can always count on my help and support in this matter - I will not leave you without advice and tips at any time. However, in addition to this, I want here, within my store, you can always find the necessary information about what and how to do with the picture after its acquisition. And they were not afraid to deal with her design independently :) I tried to bring together the main, basic moments for you, the recommendations of the Baget's specialists, from which it is taken to repel. So. We are interested in registration of works performed in :

Graphic techniques - Including watercolors. Whether the watercolor to the graphics or painting - this question still remains ambiguous from an artistic point of view, but as they say - "right now is not about that." In the context of our question, we will draw watercolor precisely to the schedule - on the basis of the Unified

Media. Painting is what is on canvas with a subframe. Graphics - all that on paper. Painting with a subframe is made directly in the frame (baguette), and that's it. Graphics, like photos, requires a solid foundation inside, passecut and glass from above. Yes, without a passenger, of course, you can do, but its use is still recommended extremely strongly.

Just in case,

What is something

Baguette

Embroidery decorated in a gentle passe

- Special plank from wood, plastic, etc., which serves to make framework frames, photos, documents and other images, as well as mirrors. That is, the fact that we, in fact, usually imply in everyday life under the concept of "frame".

Paspartu.

- a piece of cardboard or paper with a hole cut in it under the frame in which the photo is inserted, drawing, etc. Additional direct image frame, background or "layer" between the image itself and the frame.

  • Pasparta, thus, serves as a link between the picture and the barn frame.
  • The passecut matters not only aesthetic, but also performs a protective function: protects against environmental exposure - moisture, sun rays, mechanical damage, also due to the thickness of the cardboard warns the interaction of a colorful layer with glass (sometimes it is extremely important).

But there is even more important to the question of aesthetic perception. The works of graphics are visually thinner, lighter, aeriality of picturesque canvases. And the paper itself as the basis plays a significant role, be it a background of a pencil drawing or fragments of a clean white sheet, giving light in watercolor. Pasparta facilitates the perception of the picture, visually harmonizes the work as a whole, carries the necessary picture "air", free space. Like fields in the book.

  • The design of paintings is professionally engaged in bagent workshops. In modern baguette studio, as a rule, a fairly exhaustive choice and baguette, and the samples of the passecut, and many workshops on their site also have a convenient online constructor, with which you can understand different frameworks on your own picture.
  • Do not forget not to "try" you will not be the picture itself, but its photo, which in comparison with the original may not quite accurately convey the flavor of the work. The same applies to the color reproduction of samples on the site - the monitor settings can significantly distort the color.
  • Here we need to choose the passecut and baguette for your painting. What exactly we have to decide, it is:

Color and width passecut Color, width and baguette material. I will start with the general moments from which we will be repelled when choosing. Any graphics - pencil, watercolor, pastel - involves a lighter and subtle solution in the design, rather than painting. Therefore, first of all take to armared the principle "the easier - the better." Frame - simple laconic design. From materials - a simple tree, in some cases subtle plastic or aluminum will be appropriate. Minimum decor. Certainly no stucco with gold :) We remember the sequence of decisions: first select the passecut to the picture (not to the wall, furniture or curtains, no - to the picture!). Then - frame. Here it is just - to the interior and picture at the same time.

In enthusiastic aesthetic research, do not forget about the main thing - in the duet of the frame and the paintings to dominate unambiguously.

In no case, the correct framing does not "argue" and does not "compete" with the work, but, on the contrary, it continues harmoniously, it supplements and advantageously emphasizes it. And the task of choosing a frame is a story, first of all, how to reveal the advantages of the presented image. It's like a true right outfit for a woman: surrounding should not remember

  • what exactly

Classical work in the dark passe

You were dressed, they must remember that you

Look tremendously

:) In case of doubt it is better to stop the choice on a simpler, restrained solution. Determine the color.

First, we remember the passe.

  • Universal classic color passecut will be neutral white or close to it as close to it. You can be confident that he will not "score" the flavor of work, will not respond to himself and, on the other hand, it will appropriate to look at any wall.

Therefore, if you doubt - choose white, it will never be an error.

With all other options, it is really absolutely 100% confidence in full "hit" both in color and in the tone (

  • Tone - Graduation in the Plan Light-Dark
  • ). Incorrectly selected tones or shades can extremely unprofitable to muffle contrast and color image; Too dark - may be unnecessarily sharp, heavy.

If you still want to "turn on the color", follow the following recommendations.

  • Weiently focus on the color decision of the picture. We choose the "related" shades - that is, those that are present in the picture itself in the form of a dominant colors or additional shades.
  • The color of the passecut is a little darker or, on the contrary, the lighter color of the picture, or coincides with one of the non-core colors.
  • A classic option is considered to be a shade on the half of the larger color in the picture. For a dark passecut, the color is determined on the half of the brighter of the dark elements of the image.

The color of the passe will allocate, "reinforcing" the corresponding color in the picture. Therefore, we focus on what of the shades of the color scheme of the picture we want to "support" or what exactly in the picture is to bring perception to the first plan.

Poppies in Light Pasparta

For paintings solved with the predominance of warm tones, we also select the "warm" framing. For cold, respectively, on the contrary.

  • To the cold range - clean snow-white or light shade, related color scheme paintings. To warm tones - warm creamy white, cream, coffee shades.
  • We prefer calm muted shades. Bright colors, like overwhelming tonal contrasts, it is better to avoid, for graphics and watercolors, it in the overwhelming majority will be a disadvantageous neighborhood. In addition, complicates the search for a suitable frame.
  • The bright passepart visually expands and "facilitates" the picture, the dark - as if compresses, limits, but sometimes it may be unexpected and interestingly uncover the color saturation of the shades, to give the depth and "sonicity" to individual colors. However, I repeat: if there is no complete confidence in the unequivocal advantage of a dark or sufficiently saturated "color" shade of the passent, it is better not to risk. In any case, to show maximum caution.

In the bagent workshop, you will most likely be offered to select a slightly small sample samples. The color of the sample in the final design of the picture will look just darker, rushing than it seems on the sample. His literally, and, mainly, visually will be as if "more", the effect of perception of color will increase. Do not forget about it. And this advice is all the more relevant, the greater the color of the passecut differs from the simple white.

  • As for the choice of color and "style" of the baguette frame - repel from the function of the frame as a link between the picture and the interior.
  • Baguet should be harmoniously combined at the same time with the picture, and with the passecut, and with the surrounding space (directly by the wall and room as a whole).

With regard to the selection of the frame to the interior, the classic option is considered to combine wooden baguette with wooden furniture. We select wood shades. Color baguette is appropriate to combine with colored elements of the decor - color accents in textiles, accessories, etc. You can find a lot of interesting combinations. Metal elements of the baguette, if any, must support metal elements in all other accessories - details of lamps, fittings, etc. (That is, if it is present in the interior items, say, only matte chromium - we do not choose a frame with a "golden" strip, etc.).

  • Baguette also supports "warm" or "cold" gamut paintings and, accordingly, the passecut.
  • The color of the baguette is selected on the colon with a darker or brighter the prevailing color of the painting, or the coinciding with the neosticular color of the picture.
  • Dark baguette - on half a stone, the lighter of the darkest painting details.

The color of the baguette should not coincide with the color of the passe!

  • General Council: When it comes to a fine choice of a suitable shade, do it with good lighting, extremely preferably - daily. Lighting can greatly distort the perception of color, especially thin nuances in shades! I confess, once he faced a couple of times. It happened that the frame was chosen under bright sunlight and then indoors, where the lighting is only a non-launch artificial (corridor) - completely "faded". It was and vice versa: The wizard selected in the room, which seemed the ideal continuation of the painting, in a bright sun room "bloomed" unthinkable, completely inappropriate with a tint ... Do not repeat my mistakes :) Organize the selection of samples so that the result is exactly what you need :)
  • Let us now decide which width should be our passe and frame.
  • The width of the baguette should not coincide with the width of the Pasparta! Pasparta - wider frames.

The larger the picture - the wider the framing.

To determine the harmonious width, the passecut is usually guided by the following rule: the width of the fields is approximately equal to 1/3 or 1/2 from the width of the narrow side of the picture. For medium-sized work, a classic option will be a passenger width of 5-10 cm.

However, very often with small pictures in size, it looks very spectacular just a broad passecut, more painted area area. They seem to concentrate the view in the center, emphasize small details. The main thing is not to overdo it with the size, not "cripple" work.

Too broad passecut in most cases visually "squeezes" the picture. But it happens otherwise - light light paintings look harmonious with a wide design, it brings a feeling of space, airiness. Also, the wider passent is better suitable for pictures with a pronounced sensation of dynamics, movement, especially if the perspective of the picture seems to go beyond the frame. Such works also need "Spacious" around, otherwise the feeling of cramped, disharmony will be created visually.

The thinner, lighter, more elegant, the thinner choose a baguette. Especially for the schedule. Wide baguette is perfect for work dynamic, bright, juicy, deep. Also, the baguette sewing can also be selected to images with a major predominance (or, as an option, a narrow baguette with a wide passe).

The lower side of the passecut is recommended to do a little wider than the rest.

Our vision works in such a way that with the symmetric width of the framing, we have a feeling of "faults" of the picture. This phenomenon of perception is even name - "Bottom Weighting Effect". And we harmoniously we perceive the frame where the lower field of the passent will be wider than the top. Remember, for example, the same fields in the book - they are usually organized in the same way. Possible exceptions will be the pictures where the visual "center of gravity" is clearly concentrated at the bottom. But here, an increase in the width of the lower field will also be appropriate, options are simply possible.

With a width of a pasparnis 5-10 cm, a 1-2 cm increases to the lower field. The top and side fields are the same in width.

There is also another point of view on the width of the upper and side fields. To images oriented vertically - the top is wider than the parties. To the horizontal pattern - on the contrary, the sides are wider than the top. Square - top and sides are the same, bottom - wider. Frankly, I myself never applied it in practice. For its work, there always did the same three sides and wider bottom. And now to the issues of the practical embodiment of our investment ideas. Both baguette frame and passecut, and all other parts of the framed can be ordered in any bagent workshop separately. Here our task is just not mistaken with sizes.

The frame can be used at all in the finished form, and it will be hidden in most cases much cheaper than the regulatory baguette, and it will not seem to look much worse. The choice of ready-made photo frames is often more than satisfactory, especially considering that we need a frame of the most simple design. Additionally, we order only the Paspart in the "Bagthelet".

As generally "arranged" frame for the painting. The assembly is the following details: a cardboard back, on it - the picture itself, then the passecut, over the glass. All as it were, as it were, "puts on" the frame, and with the help of special tin brackets fastens the entire design. All from this set, except for the passecut, is included in the package of finished photo frames.

To order a passecut, the following dimensions will be needed. External size - under the size of the frame. Let's just say, corresponds to the size of the inserted glass. The size that is specified on the finished framework - 30 * 40, 40 * 60, etc.

And the size of the internal window is the size of the picture. Taking into account the fact that the edges of the picture must be

under

Paspartu, we take the allowance for these edges at least from 0.5 cm on each side. But, as a rule, the articles of the graphics never fall into your hands cropped exactly along the edge of the picture. The technique of their creation itself implies the fastening of the edges of the sheet on a basis, for example, with the help of painting tape or somehow else. And the finished work remains these "fields", which the artist usually leaves non-carved precisely on registration under the passent. Thus, to determine the size of the internal window of the passecut, we measure the edges of the image directly on the sheet. What we will eventually see framed, and the rest will hide the passent.

With a ready-made passe, we do as follows. We try to the window drawing, mark on the back side of the pencil, where the edges of the sheet are located, and carefully fix the sheet around the edges on the back side of the passe. Fasten the best painted scotchpiece - it is absolved easily and without damaging paper. Unlike the usual tape and especially glue, therefore it is better not to use. Once again, check with the front side, whether everything turned out as it should, and proceed to the assembly.

It will most easily put the frame on the front side of the front side down, then in the frame - glass, then the passecut with the picture, and at the end of the cardboard backdrop. . Alto forget to check whether it remains on the glass, especially from the inside, any stains, saidels or traces of your fingers. It is better for every occasion again to wipe it with a liquid to clean the glass or something like that. Now it's tightly fasten this "sandwich" with tin lamellas on all sides of the frame (do not forget also to check the mount, which we will cling to the picture to the wall - is it located exactly in the center of the upper side). Keep in mind, the slats are not designed for multiple bending there, they will easily break, and the design will remain without fixing. Again - "Seven times will die and once again" :)

A few words about glass. The finished frames happens both ordinary glass and plastic. In that other, there are posses and cons, I will not stop on them in detail. We only mention that in the same bagent workshops, you can order a special anti-reflective glass with additional protective properties.

Normal glass: Svetopuska about 90%, reflection UV is about 8%. Anti-reflective glass, matte glass: Svetopropuska about 80% reflection of UV is about 30%. Museum glass, bibrilous glass, depending on the manufacturer - light-ups up to 99%, reflection UV to 99%.

Keep in mind: Anti-reflective (matte) glass will make the color of the passewood on the halfthon darker.

Here, perhaps, all. The advice with which I shared with you is collected from different sources, from professional artists to baugette specialists. I will be very glad if these tips will be useful to you.

Media. I think that the general idea of the principles of the selection of Baguette and the Pasparta will help you wonderfully cope with the task of framing the picture yourself. Especially since this is the creative and fascinating itself.

And let the pictures you purchased for your favorite house or a gift to loved ones will bring exceptionally positive emotions. And for each painting in the house, let it be the most "its" frame :) Inspirations to you, dear friends, and warm spring!

And sincerely thanks to everyone who mastered the text to the end :)

Praphrasing a famous thought, we can say that in the image everything should be fine: and the work of the Creator, and the Pasparta, and Baguette, and the worship of work in the exhibition hall. In this small article, we will talk about how not to spoil the good work with bad design.

Different colasent tones
What is a climate and why is it necessary?

- This is a color dense cardboard (or other similar material), framing pattern, picture, photograph or other product of fine art. In other words, Pasparta is the fields between the physical frame and the image.

Why is it necessary?

Little work in a wide climate
First, Pasparta facilitates the perception of the work, helping the viewer to concentrate its attention in the image. Secondly, the passecut and the entire frame as a whole protect the work from adverse environmental factors. Thirdly, a competently selected passecut may focus on or other images of the image and, thereby enhance the aesthetic effect on the viewer. Fourthly, the frame and the passecut are elements of image harmonization both with the surface of the wall and with others closely located objects. Fifth, it in itself can be the subject of art. Surely you can add something else to this list, however, the purpose of this article is mainly to highlight basic practical issues. Therefore, on this we will finish the discussion of the issues of high theory and proceed to practice.

About the dangers of symmetry

Unfortunately, the majority on sale are symmetrical. This means that the fields on the opposite sides of the image in such a passecut are equal. This allows the same passecut to use for the design of images of both horizontal and vertical formats. This approach is very practical, but from the point of view of aesthetics, he is rarely justified. This thought is often trying to challenge. So, for example, Sharon Heims writes: "If the image is large or intended for raising above the eye level, then sometimes the subspate's lower field is made wider, which allows the viewer, looking at the bottom up, not to notice the reduction of the size of the lower field compared to the side Fields. Since such situations are rare, then we usually make the passecut with the same fields on all four parties. " With the fact that the upper wave requires an additional increase in the lower field, the passent is difficult to disagree. But what cannot be agreed with the fact that when weighing the eye level, you can always restrict ourselves to using symmetric passecut.

Fig. one

Let's try to figure out what is the case. To do this, remember the well-known example with the Latin letter S. Take a look in fig. 1. The bottom and top half of the left letter S seem to us almost the same (commensurate), and the whole letter as a whole looks quite harmonious. At the same time, this cannot be said about the right letter S. Here we clearly see that the upper part of the letter is excessively large. However, the most amazing thing is that this is the same letter! The second option was obtained by turning the source letter 180 °.

The visual perception of a person is arranged so that for the harmonious perception of the object vertically, its lower part should have a slightly greater visual weight. This "secret" has long been known to everyone who, one way or another, is associated with the priority process. And that is why the letter S in almost all regular fonts is asymmetrical: its lower part is somewhat higher than the size of the upper one.

Fig. 2.

This "secret", of course, know all the manufacturers of frames and baguettes. In English literature, he is called "Bottom Weighting Effect". Thus, the only reason for the widespread prevalence of symmetric passecut is commercial feasibility.

For the sake of justice, it should be noted that symmetrical passecut in some cases look good. This happens mainly when the function of increasing the visual weight in the lower sector performs the image itself. Symmetric clips are also appropriate in cases where we are dealing not so much with artworks as with cognitive or scientific illustrations. But most often the lower field of the passecut should still be increased.

Take a look at fig. 2. In its upper part, examples of symmetric image placing in the frame (option a) are given. Embodiment B differs from the variant of the larger lower field. In my opinion, even on these, small in size, there are visible illustrations that the option in looks in general harmonious.

Sometimes enough just slightly increase the lower field - and the perception of the image is significantly improved.

How to put an image in the frame

Narrow strict pasparte
In all cases, when it comes to the visual perception of a person, the strict formal rules cannot formulate. All that will be set out below is nothing more than recommendations. Sometimes they quickly lead to success. Sometimes they require significant corrections. The most reasonable thing about them, as a good starting point. It should also be remembered that this article is discussed solely on single passecut framing the only image in the frame.

First of all, you should answer the question: what size should the passecut be? Zero fields are usually used when framing picturesque canvases. If we are talking about graphic work (including about photographs), it should be noted that small fields practically do not perform any function. They just verily merge with the physical frame. Very wide fields in many cases are also inappropriate, since excessively large passecut can distract attention from the image itself.

The width of the side field, as a rule, is in the range from 1/3 to 1/2 narrow side of the image. The left field should be equal to the right. The top field is often choosing about the same size as the side fields. The bottom field according to the reason mentioned above is made slightly more.

Sometimes it is still allowed to make side fields very wide. Such a situation may, for example, arise if the image in itself is not balanced. As another example of this kind, engraving (as well as images similar to engraving techniques) can be brought. A some increase in fields is also required for "dense" images (in this case, the pictures shown tightly fill the picture and, as it were, are pressing from the inside on its borders).

Patterns with passecut in the interior
For vertical photos with the aspect ratio A / B = 2/3, the following formulas work well: side field = A / 3; top field = b / 5; Bottom field = b / 3. These ratios allow you to determine not only the size of the passecut, but also the location of the image itself.

If, based on certain considerations, you have already chosen the sapart size, and with the placement of the image yet, you can still use a recommendation from the book by V.P. Mikulina "25 photo lessons." According to this book, the image must be in the optical center of the frame. You can find an optical center using simple geometric constructions (see Fig. 3).

Fig. 3.

In general, the construction is understandable and without additional explanations. On the left drawing, the blue dotted shows the right and lower field in half. In this way, the point and the bottom right angle of the image should be placed.

A few words about the color of the passe

If we are talking about black and white images, then most often it makes sense to choose a sapart of any gray shade (from white to black).

Fig. four

Patterns with passecut in the bedroom
White color visually increases the work, while black reduces it (Fig. 4). On a white background, the image as it comes forward to the foreground. Black passecut is like a window, through which we look at what is behind the plane of the picture. Gray color performs an intermediate function. In relation to the image, it is neutral as possible.

Each color has its drawbacks. For example, the white color of the passecut may excessively distracting the viewer from the image itself, and black is able to negatively affect the correct perception of tonalities. Not perfect and gray. "Gray substrates look good with the appropriate image, but you have to follow, so that this tone does not score the plot, which will otherwise look like monotonous and boring," says J. Wade in the book "Technique of a landscape photo." In addition, while maintaining neutrality in relation to the image, the gray color may dissemble both closely located objects and with the interior as a whole.

Pattern in Paspart over the sofa
It must be said that much depends on the interior. It is unlikely that it makes sense to hang on one wall next to each other two work with a substantially distinguished framework.

Weighing and paperwork require a creative approach. Unambiguous solutions can not be here. In any case, the final solution is always largely determined by the taste and views of the author, designer or organizers of the exhibition.

Often the recommendation is found to choose such a color instead of white, which is slightly darker of the brightest elements of the image. (Or, accordingly, instead of black to use such a color, which is a little bitple of the darkest shadows.) This advice is not bad, but in practice it is not easy to use.

For color images, you can use the clipart as in black and white gamma (see Fig. 5) and color (see Fig. 6).

Fig. five

When using color passecut, it is advisable to focus on calm, muted tones. Throw poster colors are appropriate only when solving special design tasks.

Fig. 6.

The color of the passecut is most often chosen into the tone of any element of the image. In fig. 6 This is respectively the color of the greenery, the color of the sky and the color of stone buildings. With the help of color passe, you can emphasize (or, on the contrary, muffle) any details on the image.

Several concluding recommendations

At the beginning of the article it was said that the frame and the passecut also serve to protect the work from adverse environmental impacts. In this regard, it is important to understand that the framework as a whole and its individual elements themselves should meet certain requirements. Compliance with a few simple recommendations will allow for many years to ensure the safety of the work.

1. Among other things, the invoice must prevent the contact of the work with the glass frame. This is especially true for photographs whose emulsion can adhere to it. For this reason, when applying "under the glass" should not stick the photo on top of the passent. Instead, you need to use the overhead frame. Cheap frames with glass (without passecut) should be used exclusively for designing works that have no high value.

2. Fasten the work in the frame should be a non-destructive way. For this you can use, for example, branded or homemade paper corners. An example of such a safe attachment can be found in the article Dale Cotton.

3. Materials from which the frame elements are made are chemically neutral (neutral pH). This is especially important for those frame elements that are in direct contact with the photo.

More detailed information on ensuring the safety of works can be obtained from other publications, for example, from the article on the website of the American Institute for Conservation of Works of Art and Historical Values (AIC)

findings

The ready-made passe and the framework available on a wide sale rarely help harmoniously arrange the work of fine art. Therefore, typical solutions should be preferred by an individual approach. It must be considered:

- laws of perception; - the properties of the work itself; - features of the interior, in which the image will be placed.

Pasparta - what it is, how to make with your hands from cardboard, varieties and selection of colors

  • It is impossible to present a picture without a frame, because Without this important element, the work of art looks defective. In addition, nothing decorates so much and does not give the image of a greater originality as a skillfully selected Pasquerta (Passe Partout). It will add creativity the necessary effect and completion, so that the picture will become an important focusing element in any room. It will attract the attention of your guests and harmoniously fit into the overall interior design style.
  • What is passecut
  • Before ordering such a product, remember that the passecut is a wide frame (FR. Passe Partout), made of multi-layer cardboard, which frames a photo, collage, drawing, illustration or any other piece of art. This creates the boundary between the frame and the picture. In this way, it is customary to allocate portraits. The difference between the clipart from the ordinary frame is that it is, in fact, a piece of cardboard, in the middle of which an oval, round or quadranique hole is carved. And it is done under the frame of a lesser thickness.
How to make a picture in the frame that such a passe and other questions, photo № 1

The passecut is presented in the modern market with a rich palette of flowers and shades and a wide range of sizes, which allows you to freely select a frame for a specific image. In addition, an autograph of the depicted or explanatory signatures often feature this product. The correctly selected option gives the creation of a fullness and helps solve a number of decorative tasks associated with decoration. When decomriage, designers can apply both double and triple passecut.

Purpose

Deciding to order a passecut for a photo or any image that will look aesthetic and original, familiarize yourself with the appointments of such an item. Often it acts as a kind of art element, emphasizing this or that creation of art. In addition, the framework of this type performs the following functions:

facilitating the perception of the work due to the fact that it is separated from the rest of the interior;

focusing on the individual elements of the image, which contributes to strengthening the impact on the audience;

Protection of art objects from negative environmental impact.

  • Dimensions
  • The frame of the passecut (most) has the same dimensions, and from all sides. Such an approach is considered justified from a commercial point of view, because It can be used for both book and landscape. True, this format is not always appropriate from aesthetic point of view. This is explained by the peculiarities of the visual perception of man, because When considering vertical objects, the very harmonious will be the lower part of which has a greater weight.
  • It should be said that a symmetrical frame is not always bad, for example, if the picture has a bright focus at the bottom, then there is no additional strengthening in a visual plan. There is no need for asymmetric passecut if it is purchased for cognitive and scientific illustrations. In general, a well-chosen fraction and dimensions are able to give the status of a product to any linear and color chaos, and even naive childhood drawings.
  • What are manufactured from what
  • Planning to purchase a client for photos, read the materials of the manufacture of such an item. For this purpose, manufacturers use a sheet of paper or cardboard in the form of sheets, which on both sides is covered with layers of paper. The front side is covered with a colored layer. Cardboard is a monophonic and color - thickness ranges from 0.5 to 3 mm. In the first case, the color of the cut and the front side is the same, and in the second - the cut is different in the color of the upper layer.
  • The best properties have a museum cardboard, less affected by fungus. More qualitative is considered a cardboard with the quality of preservation made of natural cotton - it does not give the fungus at all. There is still material from cellulose with the content of lignin - subjected to oxidation and spoils paper pictures. Read more about making passecut:

Cardboard for such a frame is the watman sheets compressable in several layers that are covered with colored paper sheet. Cellulose from wood fiber is often used for manufacture.

Cardboard consists of a surface layer, internal and inside. Each of them has special requirements.

  • In addition to aesthetic requirements, the surface of the product must be resistant to light. In this regard, the paper for the surface layer is manufactured on highly specialized paper factories that meet high quality standards.
  • The back of the subject is no less important than others, because This layer comes into contact with the work of art. For the manufacture of inside, paper not containing acid and carbonate-treated calcium is used.
How to make a picture in the frame that such a passe and other questions, photo № 2

The inner layer is the fatest. A standard inner layer made of wood and a layer of non-oxidizing cellulose is used to a greater extent. If the first is made of selected and deprived of any impurities of wood fiber, then it minimizes the appearance of black dots. The advantage of cellulose is that it does not turn yellow over time and such a structure ensures reliable protection against any external influences.

An additional aesthetic effect when frame gives the painted inner layer of cardboard. The contrast contour helps brighter to highlight the work of art.

  • Methods for the location of Pasparta
  • Patterns with passecut can be subconsciously perceived as art objects. Sometimes it is used to increase decorative properties to increase decorative properties, which is manufactured in the form of a wooden or plastic plank - located between the image and the field. It is desirable, before choosing a particular item to determine the optimal method of its location. There are only two of them:
  • Under the drawing. In this case, the picture is fixed on a solid cardboard sheet. To do this, rubber glue can be used, which, if necessary, easily removes - the drawing will not deteriorate. Another way is to use corners or bilateral stickers. This option is not suitable if the photo is placed under the glass. It can stick to tight and be irretrievably lost. In addition, this type of item adds stiffness to a children's handicraft and in the future it can be placed on the wall.

Above drawing. This option looks like a dense frame that the finished product of art is placed. For the manufacture, you can take a couple of cardboard sheets: thin is used on the substrate, and thicker - for the manufacture of the frame. In the latter, it will be necessary to cut the window on the size of the picture, leaving the allowance of 3 mm, which will go to the inclined cut under a 45-degree angle. The picture is fixed on the substrate, and then the top frame is attached to the edges of a 2-sided adhesive tape.

Options

  • The passecut may differ in texture or coating, which is used by velvet, silk, flax and decorative films. White, gray or solving the other color is ideal for engraving, paintings, regular photos. Depending on the size of the creation, it is possible to choose a narrow or wide climate. The first option focuses on the frame, and the second adds an air picture. Also, decide on the appropriate option:
  • Multilayer. It is different in that it consists of two or three cardboard options with different shades. At the same time, it is necessarily combined with the image. The inner layer is darker or lighter external. Often, a gold-colored product is used as a lower layer, ideally combined with a frame of a gold baguette. A double version of the close shades of the same color is able to create the effect of deep "Facet", which is enhanced when using a cardboard of greater thickness. Some spread has acquired a variant of design using a multilayer clipart, which uses oval fats, and then, in the form of a rectangle - separated by a wide edge.
  • With Crate. This is a plastle (ruler) from plastic or wood, the appearance of which is varied: from tinted and painted to aged, from carved to smooth. Kant acts as a partition between the pattern and the passe, being an additional decor. The plank must be combined with the passe and frame, both in color and finishing. At the expense of a special form of the profile, it can insert into the passecut window. Kant does not allow the picture with glass, if the latter is used when designing.

Without cutout windows. Work in this case is superimposed on a sheet of product, thanks to which the image is preserved completely. Cross-border pieces of creation are not closed.

  • Select size
  • When selecting the optimal solution, pay attention to the diagonal, height and width of the product. Too small fields will not perform their basic function. Their width is almost always chosen a little more frame width. Sometimes wide fields are considered inappropriate, because An overly large product distracts attention from the picture itself. The field widths are ranging from 1/4 to 1/3 narrow side of the picture. If the image in itself is not balanced, then the side fields are allowed very wide. In addition, a wide variant can be used in the following cases:
  • depicted portrait, still life;
  • a big subject almost to the whole picture;
How to make a picture in the frame, what is the passe and other questions, photo number 3

The landscape lacks the sea (take the bottom even more) or the sky (increase the strip from above).

Size selection is a serious thing. If you are not mistaken with him, you can submit an image in the best perception. Options:

  • For images of all sizes - the upper and side fields are equal to the width of each other, the lower is slightly wider;
  • For medium and large - about 1/3 narrow side of the picture;
  • For vertically directed - side fields of 1/3 from the width of the narrow side of the image, the lower field is 1/3 from the height, the top - 1/5;
  • For small drawings with a large number of small parts (for example, engraving) - a wide product up to 15 cm, and sometimes more.
  • Color selection
  • Single products are produced in the widest color scheme - from snow white to deep black. Pasparta acts as a tool to achieve a color balance between the picture and the frame. When selecting it is very important to monitor the color combination:
  • For black and white works, use similar product options and frames: black-black, white-white, black and white and vice versa.
  • White color and its shades are widely used in the design of monochrome graphics and black and white photos.
  • By issuing color works, follow the thinnest nuances of color and lights in the image and what style the interior of the room is set aside.
  • Dark items are able to enhance the intensity of the paints in the figure depending on their shade, highlighting cold or warm tones in the overall range.
  • Vintage etchings and engravings often require for their design options for quiet pastel shades that do not distract attention from the work itself.

Using a color framing, it is advisable to navigate the muted, calm tones. Rich colors are used in the design of posters, modern graphics, and catchy poster - are appropriate when solving special tasks (formed).

Often the color of the product is selected in the tone of one of the pattern element. In most cases, it differs from the shade of the frame, although sometimes there are also a successful combination of both elements of close in color.

  • The color of whipped cream (cream) is a neutral white with a slight yellowish tint, which has long become an integral element of the "new" color range. It is harmoniously combined with the color of the stone, suede, shale gray.
  • White visually increases creation, and black - reduces. On a white background, the picture seems to be on the forefront, and a black framing is a kind of window, through which the audience looks at the picture. True, the white color is often overwhelming away from work, and black is able to negatively influence the correct perception of tonalities.
  • The ivory shade is a soft white, more pleasant to the eyes. In the art of the interior, the combination of ivory and black helps to achieve the most dramatic sounds. Such a shade can reflect the light, creating a feeling of heat - well combined with muffled dark paints.
  • If it comes to black and white photos, it makes sense to choose the framing of a gray shade - from white to black.

Pasparta do it yourself

If you are going to make a passeface yourself, then prepare a ruler, scissors, cardboard, dense colored paper, ruler, metal corner and glue. Stages of work:

Draw on an empty sheet of dense cardboard a rectangle size twice as much as the size of the finished job. Then cut the markup on the markup and place in the center of the received rectangle photo, picture, etc. Ensure that the distance to the edges is the same. Carefully circle a snapshot with a pencil, remove and retreat from the edges of 1-2 mm, cut the smaller rectangle. The result is a rectangle with a window carved in the center.

Let's start making a contrasting edge. Cut from colored paper (dense) two pairs of strips: the dimensions of the first two must correspond to the length of the internal window, and the second - width. Bend each strip in half and leave a narrow kant in the center - width 2 mm. Taking advantage of a metal corner, check whether all the carved strips are suitable.

Next, connect the strips with a cardboard frame with glue, which is applied only to the cardboard. Special attention is paid to the joints at the corners.

As soon as the glue gets off, put a photo on the opposite side a photo and decorate the finished job of the frame - with a glass or without it. If you are going to place in the frame embroidery, you first attach it to a dense cardboard and fix the fabric from the back side with a small stapler or bilateral scotch.

Photos of family members, landscapes, abstract drawings, children's creativity, engraving can be inserted into the framework. All this adds his note to the creation of comfort. What is a climate?

But this is absolutely not a dogma. A solution is very interesting, when the passecut is wider at the bottom (this is the most profitable side in order to emphasize all the advantages of your image and do not distort the perception). But there is one little secret that will make your images within an even more expressive. How to make a passent?

1 option:

Go to the Baget Workshop. Capture an image and frame with you. The wizards will help you pick up the color of the passe and cut it out of very dense cardboard, joking the edges diagonally.

Option 2:

Make a clock with your own hands. This option is appropriate to use if the images are under the glass. In this case, simply insert a sheet of thick white paper into the frame, and then accommodate your image in the center (you can fix it with dry pencil glue). Previously, of course , Appropriate measurements should be made so that everything is accurate and smoothly in contact.

In particular, a single object, a slightly crammed picture framework, with the help of a similar framing will look more advantageous due to the visual expansion of the work horizons and smoothly combine with the style of the entire room.
